Earlier this month I shared a beautiful quote on my Instagram page which received an overwhelming response, so it seems fitting to share it again here as the opening to this months edit, it reads:
"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new."
There is so much truth in this. Becoming a new mum is like a rebirth, a time to learn so much not only about what it means to be a mum but also about yourself.
It's a journey that is overwhelming, the uncertainty, the sleepless nights and all the emotions, but it's also overwhelming in the most wonderful way too, of overwhelming love and happiness that you never knew existed.
It's a time to look after yourself as best you can and lean on those who are there to support you. This month's edit is all about you mama, read on for some beautiful Australian made products and services to support you through this most precious time.
A personal favourite of mine and a must have for new mamas Being Skincare creates small batch, simple plant based skincare packed with skin loving organic nutrients that smell oh so divine.
My breastfeeding journey was rough, my milk took ages to come in and (TMI alert) my nipples were sore, cracked and bleeding and a soothing nipple cream was a must, enter Being Boobie Balm, the perfect balm to nourish overworked nipples.
High on my mama beauty routine is Being's Winter Face Oil and Being Balm, two simple beautiful products to keep my skin feeling nourished and hydrated in the small time I have for skincare.
I love that being keeps things simple and no fuss making skincare routines easy for mama, and that their packaging is oh so beautiful and minimal.
Once you're home from the hospital and getting into your new newborn routine, the last thing you want to think about is making dinner. Luckily, two genius Adelaide mama's, Carla and Nadia have you covered.
Together they run Golden Month and are reshaping postpartum care for mamas centred around the long held belief of 'it takes a village to raise a child' and women supporting women through postpartum care. Their service encompasses the learnings of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Ayurvedic practices.

These lovely ladies have built a truely thoughtful service for new mamas that makes for a really thoughtful gift.
All new mamas need a warm cosy pair of slippers to keep their feet toasty during those midnight feeds.
